Chickens aren't the only animals that lay eggs. The featured book explains that many animals lay eggs and they are called oviparous. Other segments include: Which came first - the chicken or the egg?: LeVar goes to the Moyer Hatchery to ask the roosters & hens that question ; I'm breaking out: features a visit to an incubator room at the hatchery and a baby chick hatching from it's shell ; Loggerhead turtles: a turtle biologist joins LeVar to watch loggerhead turtles lay their eggs in the sand, later they return to watch the turtles hatch and make their way back to the ocean.
